The Middlesex United Sonics under 10 boys travelled to St Jacobs for the Woolwich Minor Soccer Tournament on the 7th and 8th of August. 

 

The Sonics were unbeaten in the round robin defeating Georgetown 7 - nil; Woolwich 11 - nil; and tying Kitchener 1-1. 

 

The Sonics won their pool and played Waterloo in the semi final on Sunday morning defeating them 3 to 2.

 

In the final on Sunday afternoon the Sonics faced the Cambridge “A” under 10 boys.  After falling behind 2 goals to nil the Sonics fought back to even the score with two penalty shot goals from striker, Jarrett Ready. 

 

Unfortunately a successful Cambridge corner in the closing minutes of the game allowed them to get past the Sonics and win the match. 

 

As in the MU Invitational Tournament, the MU SONICS were awarded tournament finalist trophies as a result of a 3 to 2 loss. 

 

All the Sonics had a great time at the tournament and they look forward to continuing their strong league play where they so far have a 10 win, 1 loss, and 1 draw record.
